There are different styles of meditation guides for mental prayer, and this one follows that of an oration, in fact the first and second reflections could be a homily read at Mass.
There are some excellent reflections presented for the reader of the book, and its audience could be directed at any Christian not just a religious or a priest. For my taste some of the reflections and resolutions where a bit wordy, but that is a matter of preference.
Some of the meditations are unique or particularly memorable, such as the devotion to our patron Saints, and uncharitable words.
Others are somewhat standard for a month of meditation: gratitude to God, devotion to our Lady, Good resolutions etc. The survey of topics does come across as well balanced.
Overall I would not call it a masterpiece but I would recommend it.
